The Plastic Bag Free Day was a terrific success in Norwich despite the pouring rain! We had huge support from both large and small retailers and lots of publicity encouraged shoppers to bring a bag with them. Posters were displayed throughout the City thus giving people information on the event.
"we had a really positive response from our customers and at our busiest cash desk we handed out less than 30 of our own bags which we thought was remarkable. We do sell a 10p bag for life and a £2 Jute bag and many of these proved a popular alternative. ........
It does feel as though the message is getting through."

The Norwich Plastic Bag Choir sang in the Forum and then took to the streets check them out on:
We were delighted they came along to offer their support.
Marks & Spencer gave out free bags for life in support - and encouraged customers to use their own bags too!
Brenda Arthur, the Chair of Norwich Carbon Reduction Trust, talks to people at our stall in the Forum and signs up support.
