The full list of organisations in Norwich and across Norfolk which are participating is below. Organisations will need to retain lighting needed for safety and security.

6 restuarants and pubs in South Norfolk will be having candle-lit dinners for the evening.
In Norfolk, Earth Hour is supported by the mid-Norfolk Federation of Small Businesses and has been promoted by Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.

The event is organised on a global level by The World Wildlife Fund for Nature. Rachel Bloodworth, Communications Manager: Earth Hour, WWF-UK said:
"Earth Hour is an urgent message to world leaders that we need to tackle climate change and it's also a powerful reminder that we all need to help protect the planet. It is fantastic to see the Norwich community be such an important part of this global event."

Background notes

Norwich City Council – has been successful in reducing fuel consumption in its buildings and operations by 9 % over 2 years. It has supported Earth Hour for the last 3 years by switching off all non-essential lighting in the large buildings that the Council owns.

Chapelfield Shopping Centre, Norwich – has a proven track record in energy reduction and is constantly on the look-out for innovative and sustainable ways of managing it’s energy consumption.

Norwich Carbon Reduction Trust (ncrt) – ncrt is a charity that promotes practical actions to reduce carbon emissions and encourage sustainable living. It runs publicity campaigns and works with schools and community groups. See www.ncrt.org.uk
