Ian is Group Business Development Director for May Gurney where, amongst other areas, he has responsibility for sustainability and the environment to deliver considerable differences on infrastructure projects and services – minimising waste, measuring carbon impacts of projects and maximising recycling and reuse.
Ian also leads the May Gurney Environment Champions employee programme, generating awareness and behaviour changes at all levels so that the multitude of small differences that can be achieved, are achieved, delivering significant environmental improvements both at work, at home and in the wider community.
Ian moved to Norwich eight years ago and lives in Stoke Holy Cross with his wife Gill. Together, they converted their barn focusing on sustainable solutions, including rainwater harvesting, a ground source heat pump for all heating and hot water, organic paints, sheep’s wool insulation ecologically diverse, organic gardens.
Ian has three grown up children.
